Recording VHS to DVD

DVD Recorders can also be used to copy your old VHS tapes. You can easily make DVD copies of your valuable VHS tapes. Making DVD copies of VHS tapes means your memories will:

• have a long life- properly stored discs will last for decades
• have consistent quality over numerous playbacks
• be easy to share and to store

Most standalone DVD recorders have convenient video inputs. It is very easy to copy your VHS tape. Be sure to follow the directions in the manual for your DVD recorder. The basic steps to record VHS to DVD are:

1. Connect the video outputs on your VCR to the video inputs on the DVD Recorder (if you have VHS-S, use the VHS-S connectors).
2. Connect the Audio outputs on your VCR to the Audio inputs on the DVD Recorder.
3. Turn on the DVD Recorder and the VCR.
4. Put a recordable DVD into the DVD Recorder.
5. Press play on your VCR.
6. Press record on your DVD Recorder.

You can use the pause button on your DVD Recorder to edit footage from your VHS tape.

You can also record from your digital camcorder to your DVD Recorder if it has a digital input connector.
